Bookstore Presentation Coaching with Vicki DeArmon

This is a perfect fit for authors with a book set for publication who are ready to elevate their public speaking and presentation game

LAB • Friday, February 6, 2026 • 9am-1pm PST

This intensive, four-hour workshop offers a unique opportunity to refine your author presentation skills under the guidance of publishing veteran, Vicki. Limited to just four participants, this session guarantees personalized attention and actionable feedback.

Each author will receive a dedicated 45-minute coaching slot to practice their book presentation for an upcoming publication. Building on three years of highly successful training for Sibylline Press authors, Vicki will provide expert coaching, supplemented by constructive, positive input from the other authors in the group.

Prior to the event, you will receive a preparation sheet to help you focus your efforts. Whether you're battling performance anxiety or just want to polish your delivery, Vicki creates a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment. Walk away feeling confident, supported, and ready to ace your next book event, regardless of your current skill level.

In this Coaching Lab, we will:

  • Refine Your Core Message: Develop a compelling script and "patter" (impromptu sales speech) that effectively showcases your book and captivates the audience.

  • Master the Event Format: Gain a clear understanding of the bookstore presentation format, including essential etiquette and what booksellers and attendees expect.

  • Boost Your Author Presence: Build the confidence and stage presence needed to connect authentically with your audience and present yourself as a professional, engaging author.

What is the difference between a Confab and a Lab?

Sibyl Writing Craft offers two distinct types of courses. Learn about each below to help choose which is right for you.

  • What is a Confab?

A Confab is a focused 75-minute session led by one of our mentors. It’s an engaging, information-rich talk on a specific topic—like writing vivid characters, revising your manuscript, or understanding publishing. Confabs are designed to give you practical insights you can apply right away.

  • What is a Lab?

A Lab is a longer, hands-on course lasting three or more hours. Labs may take place in a single immersive day or unfold across multiple weeks. They’re designed for deeper exploration, interactive practice, and direct feedback from your mentor.
